Before I get into the ensuing mess, I wanted to share a cleaner moment from the afternoon.
As we were preparing dinner, the doorbell rang. Mom was instantly excited as she'd been anticipating the arrival of your Halloween costume. Of course we tried it on. Here's a sneak peek:
Enough with the clean, let's get messy already! Mom found this idea on Pinterest but modified it to contain the mess. The activity originally called for some plain yogurt and food coloring and a large piece of paper to paint.
Thankfully mom had the foresight to strip you down to your diaper and place you in the tub. She tried the idea with you once last week but I was at work so I didn't get to see it in action.
Tonight, bath night, she wanted to let you play again.
Rather than dip your entire hand into the yogurt and make a mess of everything around you, you'd slowly dip your right index finger in and "paint" what was within reach.
It took some coaxing from mom and I to get you to really make a mess. Soon you had orange yogurt in your hair and a collage of color on your stomach and legs.
Everyone knows kids your age like to taste whatever they can fit in their mouths so the genius behind this is that since it's yogurt, you can eat your art without us having to call poison control.
