We love taking you to the park for some fresh air and fun on the playground. Plus, it keeps your face out of "Daddy's phone" "Mommy's phone" and/or "Mommy's pad" - the iPad.
You got ready for the park with a few warmup laps around the house.
The above occurs on a nearly nightly basis.
Once your legs were loose it was off to the park for sliding, swinging and hunting for "my turtle."
But first ... it was time to slide!
For a short period, you wanted nothing to do with the slides, it was all about swinging and running around. Now, you're becoming a pro!
After you got your fix and threw countless "flowers," a.k.a. weeds, into the pond it was time to head back home.
I must mention that we had to leave the park in because you may have slipped into the pond and soaked your shoes and pants.
We always keep a close eye on you in case this sort of thing were to happen, but you got a little overzealous with one of your throws and slipped from the bank feet first into the ankle-deep water. I quickly scooped you up, but the damage was done.
"Bye bye park!" you said as you looked over my shoulder and waved.
We stripped you down to your diaper before putting you in the car. You didn't complain about a little extra "Nakey Ava" time but we had planned on making a Target run to get some cat food before heading home.
We still made the run, it just gave mom a chance to run into Carter's and buy you some new pants. She did well I must add, finding two pairs of bottoms on sale for $3.99.
Before heading in the house for the evening we had to do one last chore: water the flowers.
For reasons unknown to mom and I you insist on testing the water before the flowers get a drink.
As I tried to soak the perennials in the flower bed you insisted on putting your hands underneath.
"Too cold." you told us repeatedly. I'll heed your advise, but I don't think the plants mind one bit after sitting out in the hot sun all day.
Everywhere the hose went, you were right underneath. By the time we took you in, you were just as soaked as the flower bed.
But, did you enjoy it? You sure did and that's what matters.
With "kit kat jammies" on we ended the evening how it began, with a few laps around the house.
I have a feeling you'll sleep well tonight.
