Tonight was the annual "Light Up Downtown" event.
The centerpiece of the evening is a Christmas themed play capped with the arrival of Santa Clause and then fireworks.
We had planned to go to the event, weather permitting, this morning. It didn't look good early on as it rained heavily most of the day but it let up as the evening arrived.
We decided to give it a shot, thinking you might take an interest in the sights and sounds.
Your emotions were a mix of intrigue and fear. You couldn't take your eyes off of the light and motion, but the noise scared you a little and you insisted on resting your head on our shoulders.
Although as mom pointed out later, you might have just been trying to keep the slight drizzle out of your eyes as you looked up.
After warming up we explored the offerings for a little bit longer and grabbed a cup of coffee before you forced us to head home.
You forced us to go home? Sure did.
When we were at Carpe Diem we were told that in the downstairs level kids were being given coloring books. We found the stairs but at the bottom was just restrooms. Dissapointed we made our way back up but you had other plans. You sat down and tried to scoot down the steps. When mom wouldn't allow it you threw a fit that last all the way to the car and into our garage.
