Today Ava Played In The Snow

We've had a lot of snow this winter but not much you could actually enjoy. It's been too bitter cold to go outside and play.

It warmed up enough today, and by enough I mean it hit 30 degrees.

With an open house on the horizon this afternoon for mom, we took you outside this morning. It's quite an undertaking getting you ready to play in the cold.

First we have to get you dressed, then it's into your snow pants followed by your heavy dual-layer winter coat. Once both zippers are up, it's on to boots and finally your gloves and hat.

I'm exhausted just recounting it.

But, the effort is worth it to hear you say "snow!" and want to go play in it.

It was deep so all you really could do was stand in it, bend over and grab a handful then toss it into the air. You soon realized you could eat it too.

After playing for a few minutes it was time to slide! We don't own a sled ... honestly didn't think we'd need one until next winter at the earliest. Mom used her creativity and brought a tote lid from the garage and went up the hill on the side of the house.

It worked to perfection and you loved it!

Have a look:

You're getting to the age no where we can do more things and I'm loving it! We're going to have a lot of fun this summer.
