Today Ava Went To Downtown Chucktown

It's another beautiful day in Charleston and we decided to take advantage of it by heading downtown and seeing the famous market and The Battery.

Quite honestly, it was a little difficult to keep you content at the Market. It got hot and sticky and the last thing you wanted was for me to be holding you. But, we wanted to let you down as little as possible due to the crowd and confined space. Just trying to keep you safe.

Once we roamed through the market it was off to The Battery. History lesson: The Battery is a Civil War-era line of coastal defense named for the artillery battery that used to protect the site.

Beautiful multimillion dollar homes line the area. We'll have to bring you back when you're old enough to remember. It's stunning.

We didn't have much time downtown and we walked aong the sea wall for a little bit before heading back to Uncle Joe's to prepare dinner.

You loved seeing the water and I promise, we'll come back later in the week when we have a little more time to explore.
