Today Ava Went to the Pumpkin Patch

While researching things to do in Charleston, we came across a plantation with a pumpkin patch that you cold explore.

Tomorrow we hit the road to head back home so our goal is to head to the pumpkin patch and then back to downtown to see Rainbow Row - a line of pastel colored historical homes right near The Battery.

The patch is on Boone Hall Plantation and Farm, complete with a petting zoo, a goat pen, wagon ride and corn maze.

But, of all the attractions, your favorite had to be the inflatable air bags. They reminded me a bit of the bags that stunt men jump into, but a little more taught and fixed to the ground.

We thought we might be here all day. But, eventually you moved on. You timidly pet the bunny, the cow and the Llama and fed the goats in their pen.

We ventured a few yards into the corn maze before getting hot and sticky and deciding to head back to the front. It was overcast when we arrived which kept the a coolness in the air, but soon the clouds dissipated and the sun warmed everything up.

We stopped for a quick photo at the entrance to the maze.

Once we were back up front, you helped Uncle Joe pick out a pumpkin to decorate his front porch.

You fell asleep in the car so we detoured back to Joe's so you could get a decent nap.

Though, you woke up nearly as soon as I laid your head down.

We gave it  afew minutes to see if you'd fall back to sleep then headed back downtown.

It was downtown that I got my favorite shots of you on the entire trip.

The first time I turned to take a photo you smiled so big and yelled "Cheeeeeeeeeeesssssseeeee!"

It set the tone for the remainder of the downtown experience.

I'm sad to say, though, that we had to hustle on our final trip downtown. Weather rolled in and cut our time short. Hey, it may have been short, but a memory that will last forever.
