Today Ava Celebrated America

Your list of firsts grew today as you celebrated your inaugural Independence Day. We spent the day at your grandparents and had a cookout.

Our little American Cutie!
Your Great Grandparents all came over to visit with you as well as Great Aunt Beth who sent you the patriotic outfit you were wearing.

After the gluttony of the cookout (for me, I ate too much), and the visits, we made our way back to Canton. We got home just in time for the fireworks.

From our front porch you can see - by our count - 15 different shows going on simultaneously. Not to mention the display the neighbors two doors down put on. The spend a ton of money on a professional grade arsenal of China's finest.

You were okay with it initially, loving the pop and bright colors. That quickly changed as our neighbors brought the boom. It was loud, especially for you. Like I said, you were intrigued and wanted to watch, but the closeness of the explosions and ensuing concussions were too much for you.

It wasn't long and you were in bed. A few of the close ones would stir you, but back down you would go. Eventually the celebrations stopped and you could sleep peacefuly.

Happy Birthday, America!
