Today Ava Went To The Zoo

We decided to go see Aunt Holly and Uncle Shawn today and show you the Columbus Zoo.
Thanks for the lift, Uncle Shawn.
We didn't even bother to bring the stroller, that has lost favor to your buggy. You never would sit in the stroller, but the buggy, well that's a whole other story. You'll sit in that for hours. Such was the case today.

New driver. You put me right into the fence!
Since you sit upright in the buggy, the only downfall is when you get tired you can't lay back. That's okay, that's what Grandpa is for. Much like walking the sand in Myrtle, you quickly fella sleep on his shoulder as we were walking out of the park.

On the few occasions that you did want out of the buggy, it was on to the next best thing, piggy back rides!

Almost as soon as you enter the park there is a petting zoo full of different goats. Of course we took you in. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, you or the goat that got a nice combing.

You loved seeing the different animals. The elephants and rhinos, the monkeys climbing around in their enclosure and everything else that the zoo had to offer.

Yo, Reindeer! Over here, and bring
Santa with you!
What did you like the most? It had to be the fish. The aquarium really caught your attention and we spent a good amount of time bringing you right up to the glass and seeing the different shapes and colors of sea life.

Like the Akron Zoo, we can't pass the carousel without going for a ride. By this time in the day though, you were fading fast and sat stoically as you went around and around.

Following the zoo, we met back up with Uncle Shawn at Buffalo Wild Wings for some food. After dinner you caught a second wind and rather than put you in the car, we went to a nearby park to let you wind down.

The "Free Range Baby" made another appearance and you were happy and talkative as you roamed the park. We found some swings and you kept saying "Mo, Mo!" Your version of "More" if we tried to get you out of the swing to try something else.

I grabbed your ball and we began to play catch as you swung. It was fun and you really enjoyed it. Though my tossing ability is subject, your hand-eye coordination is pretty good.
