Today Ava Was Waiting For Me To Get Home

Deep in the history of this journal there's an entry that mentions how curious I am to hear our voice and how sweet it will sound.

We're getting closer and closer to that day. When I'm recollecting on the day and pinpointing the one thing I want you to know about and myself to remember I keep coming back to the excitement shown when I pulled in the driveway.

Just how exciting is it for me to pull my truck up the driveway? I'll have to leave the answer to you.

It was my normal drive home and as I came up the street I began to anticipate walking in and seeing you at the top of the steps.

Getting closer I noticed that the garage door was still open. Every-so-often your mom and I time our arrivals perfectly and I'm able to help her carry you or your things into the house.

It was a beautiful fall evening and she was sitting with you near the grass. I had the windows up but when I looked to my left I saw the excitement in your eyes and could see you yelling "Daddy! Daddy!" at the top of your lungs.

Call me a softy, but if that doesn't make you swell with pride, you better go see a specialist becuase you've got some problems.

You're not forming sentences yet, but with the few words you can say, we're getting a sneak peek at that pretty voice. I can't wait for it's release!
