Today Ava Had A Long Day Outside

"You put sunscreen on her this morning, right?" asked one of my co-workers as you were my assistant for the morning during the Hall of Fame's Day Out With Dad Event.

I probably should have thought about that ...

I underestimated how warm it would get on the FieldTurf and how sunny it was this morning.

Fatigue quickly set in ... or it could be the fact that you woke up at 5:10 a.m. this morning ready to take on the world ... either way, you were fast asleep on my shoulder in a matter of minutes.

We were one with our obligation so we headed back to the office then home.

Mom and I decided to take you up to the Akron Zoo for the afternoon and it just so happened that we would meet up with your friend Keelie.

We enjoy taking you places but it's always more fun when someone your age is there.

We spent some quality time with the penguins before talking you two into moving on.

We made our way to the merry-go-round and as soon as you spotted it you said "Mommy, ride penguin!"

You knew exactly where we were headed and what you wanted to ride.

It's always a struggle to get you off of the ride. One time just isn't enough.

Eventually we made our way to the new Grizzly Ridge and otter exhibit.

Within the otter exhibit is a slide for the kids that allows them to slide through the exhibit and get a closer look at the playful otters.

You've always been a little timid with the slide and never want to go down. Would you today?

Watch and see:

You did it!

And like the merry-go-round, one wasn't enough. You'd still be there sliding if we let you.

We made our way through the remainder of the exhibits and it was time to head home for dinner.

I mention dinner simply because I want to point out how classy of a little lady you are. :)

Following a nutritious dinner of tots and "dippy do" it was time to unwind with a little jumping around ...

... and light reading before bed.

Sleep well, you had a busy day!
